I am fascinated to find that researchers are beginning to study TMJ joint and jaw pain by focusing on areas other than simply the jaw. For example, there is growing realization that TMJ pain and spinal/postural problems may be related:
“[this] scientific study is to highlight any clinical correlations between malocclusions, dysfunctions of the temporomandibular joint and postural abnormalities.”
This is an idea that Moshe Feldenkrais began to develop decades ago in his sessions on Alexander Yanai Street in Israel. And that I am developing in my popular Feldenkrais program for TMJ.
Peace! More to come….
One of the best ways to experience TMJ relief through a Feldenkrais exercise is simply to try one. I have put two tmj exercises on the page here: https://www.feldenkraistmj.com/free-feldenkrais-tmj-exercises/
